Introducing Families in the City

02 June 2025

At the City of London Corporation, we have created a work programme called ‘Families in the City’ to deliver some key changes to the way we work with families.

This brings together partners, including Health and Public Health, around the shared aim to transform and improve services for all children, young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and their families in the City of London.

The Families in the City programme includes the development of a City of London Family Hub. This will bring our Start for Life services for children aged 0 to 5s into a wider offer for children and young people aged 0-25 and their families, enhancing our already strong offer.

We want to make sure we get this right for families in the City of London, and developing a new family hub will take time as it is being created in different stages. This will ensure we work out how we can best deliver for our unique communities in the City of London.

Join our Family Design Lab and have your say!
The diverse needs and views of families who use our services is always important to us and we want to build on what you have already told us about the support and services on offer.
To help us continue to listen to your voices and views, we’re inviting you to join our Family Design Lab.

Judith Finlay, Executive Director of Community and Children’s Services said:
“This is an exciting opportunity to work together and build on our existing services for families. It will take time, but ultimately we will bring support and services for families under the Family Hub banner, no existing services will stop as part of this. We look forward to engaging with families and partners as we go on this journey.”

Members of the Family Design Lab will be invited to various involvement opportunities for young people and parents or carers.
