Multi-Agency Referrals (MARS) meetings

Multi-Agency Referrals (MARS) meetings coordinate health and social care services for children with complex and multiple health and social care needs. 

At meetings, a team of professionals from health and social care discuss new referrals to the Hackney Ark and share information about cases already known to a member(s) of the team.

The aims of the meetings are to:

• Determine and arrange initial assessment and support for children and families referred
• Review and coordinate support currently offered to children and families
• Provide a forum for staff to express their concerns about specific cases
• Provide a safe environment for the sharing of potential child protection concerns
