Facilitated social space running monthly for young people aged 12-18 years with an Autism diagnosis or awaiting Autism assessment in City & Hackney!

Description

Join us at our welcoming and friendly drop-in social space with Board games, Lego, Arts & Craft activities, and advice & support. Please feel free to bring along your own games or hobbies to work on too. The drop-in sessions are a space for Autistic young people to get together and engage with other young people and learn more about neurodiversity in a safe and supported environment.

The space will be facilitated by a member of the Targeted Health Outreach Team, a Specialist CAMHS Practitioner and an Autistic Young Person.

The group will run every 2nd Thursday each month (except in April which will run on the 3rd) Free snacks and drinks provided!

Parents or carers and young people over the age of 16 will be able to self-refer by emailing us on huh-tr.mindthegap@nhs.net

After confirming a few details, they will receive a call from one of our facilitators to get a little more information to make sure that the offer is suitable for the young person and answer any questions they might have.

The drop in session is a relaxed and friendly space for autistic young people to do fun activities, play games, engage with other young people and learn more about neurodiversity in a safe and supported environment.

It’s the perfect environment for young people to socialise and build confidence in a supported setting run by professionals from Targeted Health Outreach team, a practitioner from the Mental Health in Schools Team, and an Autistic young person (peer).
