Details:
Keats House is the beautiful Regency villa where Romantic poet John Keats found inspiration, friendship and love.
Visit the house to discover his life story, and experience what inspired him to write some of his most-loved works. Our new Keats House 100 exhibition and special displays will immerse you in how the house looked when it opened to the public in May 1925.
Entry to the exhibition is included in admission, as are volunteer led tours, which take place most Thursday, Friday and Sunday afternoons.
To introduce you to Keats's life and work, you may like to view our film before your visit (10 minutes), and listen to one of his poems, 'Ode to a Nightingale', written in 1819 in the garden at Keats House.
Visiting Keats House
There is no need to pre-book your admission ticket. Tickets can be purchased when you visit the house. Payment is by card only.
Our volunteer-led tours of the ground floor take place most Thursday, Friday and Sunday afternoons, beginning about 2.15pm. Tours last about 30 minutes. There is no extra charge for the tour. Because the rooms are small, we may limit the number of people on the tour.
Please let us know in advance if you are bringing a group. Payment is by card on arrival. We may ask groups larger than 20 to split up.
Our current exhibitions and special displays are included in the admission price.
