Guildhall Art Gallery and London's Roman Amphitheatre

Description

The Guildhall Art Gallery houses the art collection of the City of London, with works dating from 1670 to the present, including 17th-century portraits, Pre-Raphaelite masterpieces and paintings documenting London's dramatic history

We display about 250 works of art at a time, with a programme of temporary exhibitions exploring different themes and allowing many lesser-known pictures from the collection to come out of store.

Our new premises opened in 1999, replacing the original building destroyed in the Blitz in 1941.

You can spend your Time Credits here, too. Heritage Study Room hire, art classes, bespoke one-hour tours of the Gallery or Amphitheatre, and some special evening events cost just 1 Time Credit.
