The City Living Resident Card is the City of London Corporation’s new scheme which will give cardholders access to exclusive offers and opportunities from City attractions, local businesses, and useful services. And, it also acts as your library card! This initiative is part of our Residential Reset programme, which celebrates our vibrant City Living community and aims to expand access to resources and opportunities for residents. Get your free card
Visit your local City library; Artizan Street, Barbican or Shoe Lane Library to claim your free 'City Living Resident Card'. You will need proof of address and a form of ID to sign up, and those already signed up to the library can exchange their existing library card for free. Information on joining the library can be found on the 'Join the library' webpage.

Dr Johnson’s House is a rare 17th - century town house just off Fleet Street in the City of London, and home to Samuel Johnson for over a decade in the middle of the 18th century. It was here he had his most prolific writing period, completing his seminal Dictionary of the English Language (1755) as well as writing a play, a novel, periodicals and poetry.

One of the City's best-loved attractions, The Monument offers panoramic views over London. Climb 311 steps to be rewarded with breathtaking views of the City, as well as a certificate of achievement - a special souvenir for children and adults alike.

Built to commemorate the Great Fire that devastated the City of London in 1666, The Monument was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Hooke. It was constructed and built in 1671-7. The simple Doric column is topped by a flaming urn of copper gilded with two layers of gold leaf to symbolise the Great Fire.

Discover the beauty of poetry and place in the home of Romantic poet John Keats. Keats House is the beautiful Regency villa where Romantic poet John Keats found inspiration, friendship and love.

Visit the house to discover his life story, and experience what inspired him to write some of his most-loved works. Our new Keats House 100 exhibition and special displays will immerse you in how the house looked when it opened to the public in May 1925.

Entry to the exhibition is included in admission, as are volunteer led tours, which take place most Thursday, Friday and Sunday afternoons.

Admission to Guildhall Art Gallery and London's Roman Amphitheatre is free, but we recommend that you book a general admission ticket to visit any of the two (or both). Save time on arrival by booking in advance or just walk-in on the day.

Free introductory tours, conducted by Guildhall Art Gallery’s team of City Guides, are available every day, from Tuesday to Sunday, at 12.15pm and 1:15pm and last 30-45 minutes. No booking is required. These tours are for individual visits (not for groups).

Guildhall School of Music and Drama present hundreds of public performances every year, including plays, operas, classical concerts, jazz gigs, masterclasses and research seminars. The majority of our events are free of charge to attend.
